The Abbott-Wade M8 newel post is our favoured newel and coveted by our competitors because the 8mm precision mitred faces provide 4 perfect oak faces without any visible joins which are evident in the laminated 2-piece newels used by other staircase companies.
What’s more, this is not what you’ll hear others describe as a ‘wrapped post’ because such substantial pieces oak surround the oak core meaning there is not risk of the mitred joints separating.
“We chose glass and it looks fantastic!”
Mr Thorneycroft-Smith was delighted with his new oak & glass staircase with white apron – it’s not surprising really when you look at the photographs he sent us. It looks superb!

e’re very proud of our heritage. While we offer our service nationwide installing and renovating staircases all over the country, we’ve always been very proud of our roots and enjoy serving and investing in our local community. It’s part of being a family business and holding onto traditional values; attributes which help to set us apart from other companies. Local Life magazine recognised this and we were delighted when they invited us to feature in the July 2015 edition of their magazine celebrating our successes. You can read the article below.
Just a few short minutes walk from Harrods in London’s affluent Knightsbridge, this newly refurbished period mews house cannot be faulted for its’ style or design. On the market at a mere £6,000,000 and boasting 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 reception rooms, gym, cinema room and study; our favourite feature is, of course, the Abbott-Wade Staircase with the elegant curving handrail with bespoke painted spindles, rails and treads..
Located in the idyllic Cumbrian countryside in her beautifully converted barn, Mrs Thompson invested time and effort choosing the right company to complete her staircase refurbishment.
“Stunning! Everyone who visits loves it and we are delighted.”
Oak staircases are our most popular staircase style and it’s easy to see why it’s so on-trend. Not only is it strong but the warm colour and beautiful natural grain make it one of the most attractive hardwoods which can give your home an elegant and timeless look whether in a traditional or contemporary setting. Caring for your wood staircase will prolong both its beauty and its Wow Factor!
Every staircase has a story and from time to time customers share their staircase stories with us. Mr & Mrs Avery are two such customers, a shortened version of their story can be found in our casestudies but details of their full journey could better help you to imagine how the process could work for you. They’ll take you from their first steps of shopping around, the design and installation process, right through to the completed project.
“Hopefully, the text is not too long but we were keen to express just how delighted we were with the whole experience.” – Mr Avery
