Renovated through the use of replacement newel posts and balustrading we also use stair veneers. Similar to a dental veneer fitting over a tooth, they fit over the existing treads to improve their appearance.

Based in the North West, we perform staircase refurbishments in homes all over the country. No matter where you live, we can be there to perform the work you require. So long as the flight is structurally sound, we will not need to remove it. No building work is ever required. If it is not safe and needs to be replaced, then do not worry. We also offer brand new flights of stairs.

Home Visit and Survey
The first step with us is a free, no obligation home visit and design consultation. Here an Abbott-Wade surveyor will assess your staircase and discuss any ideas you have about the styles you like. They will also show you photographs of jobs we have completed in other homes and have sample materials on hand to give you an insight into the designs we offer.
Some of our teams include three generations of designers, joiners and fitters. Fully trained in house and vastly experienced they know exactly what it takes to renovate or create the perfect flight in your family home. We never subcontract.
Environmentally Friendly Clean-Up Operation
We place dust sheets in the areas we are going to work before we begin. Adjustments such as the cutting or sanding of parts is performed under a canopy outside your home to avoid excess wood chippings creating a mess. After each job, we clean and hoover the room so, with the exception of your renovated staircase, it looks exactly as we found it. We refer to this as our ‘Tidy Tradesman Guarantee’.
Any woods and metal we have left over from a job are recycled locally. The timber parts we use are sourced from an FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) accredited supplier.
