Company director Mike Wade (pictured in red) swapped 4 wheels for 2 in July embarking on a gruelling 3 day cycling challenge raising money for Tunza’s Pride, The Children & Young Persons Welfare Charity; a local St Helens based charity which aims to help vulnerable children and young people in the North West region.
The 185 mile trip starting in Leeds followed the Tour de France route of 2014 throught the punishing inclines of the Yorkshire Dales, passing through Otley, Skipton, Ilkley and Hawes before finally arriving back in St Helens where the funds raised will be used to create a community garden outside the main entrance to The Tunza Centre, on Boundary Road, St Helens. This will offer a much needed outdoor space to run weekly and seasonal projects for children and their families. Maintenance of the garden will also benefit the local children’s disability coalition, St Helens Mind and families with children with hearing and visual impairments.
The centre also runs a bursary scheme to support families during the school holidays. With your help, the centre will be able to support an increasing number of working families with the cost of good, affordable and well organised children’s activities during the school holidays.
