We are delighted to announce that Abbott-Wade are now a Multi-Award Winning family business. We have always been pioneers in the staircase installation and renovation sector, a feat which has been recognised at the Corporate LiveWire Innovation & Excellence Awards where we were announced as the Winners in the Bespoke Home Improvement Category.
The awards celebrate businesses across a range of sectors, identifying and celebrating businesses which excel in their sector.
During the awards process, the committee invited over 100,000 corporate professionals, the general public and their subscriber base to nominate associations, companies & individuals based on their achievements and strengths. Additionally Corporate Livewire’s extensive research team put forward a selection of individuals who have excelled within their sector.
Information was submitted on each nominee and their independent judging panel decided upon the most deserving teams, practices and individuals to walk away with one of the prestigious accolades.
“It’s a staggering achievement,” says Mike Wade. “We aren’t a big company, but we have been big players in our industry and we do what we do extremely well.”
It was a great surprise and an honour for the Abbott-Wade team to be announced as winners. As a small business we overcame some fierce competition in a difficult category but once again our experience and ethos has been recognised at a national level.
“We’re all delighted to win the award,” says Craig Abbott who established the company with Mike in 1996. “We have been pioneers in our industry and it’s great to get recognition for that. Trends within the staircase industry have always been changing and we’ve always been at the forefront of those trends. We’re fortunate to have a superb team around us to continue going forward.’
The team includes Operations and Design Manager Leslie Dash, one of the best and most experienced staircase designers in the country working in the renovation sector. “We use the right materials, the right designs and the right people,” explains Les. “Getting the right bespoke design is all about fulfilling the vision each customer has for their home. They may be looking for something straight forward or with those extra unique touches. These things don’t happen by accident, we listen to the needs of the customer, assess the space and use our experience and expertise to make it happen. Sometimes, because of the layout of the home, the original idea may not be feasible in which case we’re always able to advise on alternative solutions.”
In 2017 the staircase renovation sector saw another, bigger company receive a lot of investment and still fail. This shows that the Abbott-Wade business model is working. We have built our company carefully for over 20 years, deliberately avoiding excessive growth to keep our business sustainable and give our customers the personal service which they deserve.
