Sandblasted Glass Staircases

Translucent sandblasted glass is available in both our standard glass or Optiwhite low-iron glass and provides an opaque finish which is perfect for those wishing to bring more light into a space without the use of fully transparent glass in their staircase.

The panels can be secured into oak rails with stainless-steel clamps or embedded into the rails to create opaque or frosted glass stairs. The pictures below are perfect examples of how this style of sandblasted glass staircase can seamlessly fit into a home regardless of its design or décor.

Sandblasted Stairs

The images of the sandblasted stairs include a mitred return at the top of the stairs to allow a standard 90mm post to support the rake and landing glass balustrades without the need for an oversized or additional newel while pyramid newel caps add extra detail for the eye.

A benefit to frosted glass stairs is that it can work very well with other materials such as timber and steel – it is a very versatile element and has proven extremely popular, being used in many staircase installations that Abbott-Wade have completed in homes the length and breadth of the country. It is ideally suited for use in both a classic, traditional style staircase or a modern, contemporary flight of stairs.
