Every home is unique and so is every staircase refurbishment – not just because they all vary in size, layout and pitch but also because our bespoke design service means that our customers get the the stairs they really want not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ off-the-peg installation. With this in mind, the Burman family of Surrey knew they’d made the right choice in choosing Abbott-Wade.
“We are delighted with our stairs. The fitters did a remarkable job, being both professional, innovative and pleasant to have in the house, always polite and neat and tidy. They have also produced a wonderful paneling on the side wall which they improvised and produced in situ. Talented young men. Thank You!”
Many of our new customers come to us as a result of a recommendation from a previous customer. After seeing Abbott-Wade’s handiwork first hand in a friends house, Mr & Mrs Foster knew exactly who to call to transform their staircase.
“The quality of the materials are excellent as was the standard of the workmanship. The whole process from enquiry, to survey to installation was seamless, thank you for a tremendous job.”
A beautiful converted barn in Warwickshire with a spindled staircase and walkway was transformed in just one day by Abbott-Wade’s expert fitters.
“It looks amazing and has surpassed our expectations. We love it! The fitters were brilliant, tidy, friendly and worked so hard to complete the job in just one day. Brilliant!”
When Chartered Surveyor James – from Shakespeare’s own county and with the Bard’s grace and eloquence, had decided that his current staircase did nothing to compliment the original architecture of his home. James and his wife Shelagh decided the time was right to breath new life into their stairs with a call to Abbott-Wade. Chunky, oversized oak newel posts replaced those of the original staircase with embedded glass securing the balustrade.
“After thirty years, the house at last feels ‘all of a piece’; the cornerstone of the aesthetic is now in place. The historic and the contemporary are now in harmony. A very satisfactory, and very satisfying, result.” – James & Shelagh
Mr & Mrs Cooke in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire had been without a staircase balustrade for many years and the advent of grandchildren prompted concerns for the safety of visiting youngsters. A new balustrade in-keeping with the rest of the staircase was needed, not a problem for the Staircase Specialists! Big or small, there’s a solution for all.
“Your prices were keen and your designs suited what we needed.”
Our nationwide service is great news for our customers but we’re proud of our roots and love to work locally when we can. Therefore, a visit to install a new staircase in St Helens resulted in another delighted Abbott-Wade customer and was enjoyed by all parties.
“We’re really pleased with everything!!”
Keen to show off her new staircase with a newly fitted carpet, Mrs Farrall in Derbyshire was so pleased she even sent us in this photograph. Her carpet works beautifully with the stairs and wall colouring and sets off the bottom oak step perfectly. We always love to see the completed project once customers have added their own finishing touches.
“The whole process from quote to completion was professional and seamless, even the minor snagging issues at completion were dealt with promptly and satisfactorily.” – Mrs Farrall
“The hall stairs and landing will be worthy of inclusion in Country Life magazine!”
There are many types of staircase, in all shapes and sizes. Open tread staircases are a great way to add an open feeling to a living area. However, even an open tread staircase can need a bit of TLC eventually and Abbott-Wade were the obvious choice for Mr & Mrs Dowlman in Lincolnshire who wanted to replace old ranch rails to create a bright glass staircase. As other work in the home progressed, the completed staircase provided the vision and drive to ensure the rest of the project was completed to the same standard:
“Needless to say we are delighted with our revamped staircase. At the moment it is a beacon of delight in a sea of disorganisation!”
