A modern installation with glass and Abbott-Wade’s cube handrails was the specification required by the Skyte family. The great service and craftsmanship provided left a lasting impression with Mrs Skyte – as did her her new and fabulous staircase!
“It’s clear that they care about doing a good job – their hearts are in it which is very refreshing these days. I’m so glad that I chose Abbott-Wade and cannot recommend them highly enough.
Well done and don’t lose the passion!”
Why a new staircase?
“My old staircase was very dated and tired. It had no spindles, just straight up with high sided plasterboard that had been wallpapered. This made the landing and top of the stairs dingy and closed in.”
“The trigger were pictures in a magazine of staircases with glass balustrades which I thought would be a perfect way of transforming my landing into a modern light area.”
Decision making process:
“Yes, I had the well known company over to quote and their charges were extortionate. I’m so pleased I found Abbot-Wade (via Google) whose charges were much more reasonable. I also think Abbott-Wade’s newel posts are better engineered. Peter was extremely helpful in explaining about the materials used and the process. It was also good that I didn’t have to wait too long to have it done.”
“I chose glass balustrades with squared oak posts and handrail. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible to do anything about the walls at the bottom of the stairs and so I just had the landing done and the staircase strings covered with oak from top to bottom.”
“A beautiful transformation! The glass and oak look fabulous and the landing looks bigger and so much lighter. I am more than pleased with it – absolutely delighted.“Thank you to Peter, and Simon and Lee (the fitters – very tidy and good workers) who have all been amazingly helpful and polite. It’s clear that they care about doing a good job – their hearts are in it which is very refreshing these days. I’m so glad that I chose Abbott-Wade and cannot recommend them highly enough. Well done and don’t lose the passion!”
