I have lived in the house for 30 years and whilst I have refurbished other parts of my home the staircase remained drab and dated.
I first saw a glass staircase on a visit to the theatre, loved it and wondered if it would work in a home.
A large national company quoted more than twice what I eventually paid for the same product. When I found Abbott-Wade they were not only better value but had the advantage of over 15 years experience.
I was immediately sold on the sleek combination of oak and glass. I preferred the sandblasted option as it allowed as much light to come through as clear glass, but wasn’t transparent. Also, the cladding on the strings meant no more painting and the fact that it was prefinished was a bonus.
The new staircase has created a real ‘wow’ factor in my home. What was previously a dark hole has been completely lifted, brightening up the entire hallway and landing.
