It’s been a busy year for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, she has celebrated a significant birthday this year and has reigned though all of our 20 years in business and beyond.
At a time when the news is full of doom and gloom, it’s good to be reminded of some of the many good people and things which are still out there.
Way back in 1996, our much younger (and slightly less hairy) directors, Craig Abbott & Mike Wade were amongst the first recipients in Merseyside of a Prince’s Trust grant to contribute towards the tools needed for their fledgling new business.
As a small family-run business, we appreciate the importance of expertise and specialist knowledge. If you think your expert insight would be of interest to our customers why not get in touch? Whether you can advise on stair carpets or you’re an interior designer with great ideas for hall decoration, maybe you’re an estate agent who can advise customers of how to add more value to their home or maybe you’ve been renovating your home and want to share some of your experiences, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and your Guest Blog could appear on our website and social media.
In the same way that customers contact us to tell us that that their old stairs are tired and in need of updating, the same had become true of our old website which had serviced us well for several years but needed a renovation of it’s own.
When Chartered Surveyor James – from Shakespeare’s own county and with the Bard’s grace and eloquence, had decided that his current staircase did nothing to compliment the original architecture of his home. James and his wife Shelagh decided the time was right to breath new life into their stairs with a call to Abbott-Wade. Chunky, oversized oak newel posts replaced those of the original staircase with embedded glass securing the balustrade.
“After thirty years, the house at last feels ‘all of a piece’; the cornerstone of the aesthetic is now in place. The historic and the contemporary are now in harmony. A very satisfactory, and very satisfying, result.” – James & Shelagh
Far from being a lonely life out on the road, our design team relish the chance to visit customers up and down the country. With a small, dedicated team of designers with lots of experience, our customers have been enjoying the warm, friendly and relaxed approach you would expect from a family business which is in stark contrast to the more aggressive style and ‘sales games’ employed by our competitors.
Company director Mike Wade (pictured in red) swapped 4 wheels for 2 in July embarking on a gruelling 3 day cycling challenge raising money for Tunza’s Pride, The Children & Young Persons Welfare Charity; a local St Helens based charity which aims to help vulnerable children and young people in the North West region.
