“Your prices were keen and your designs suited what we needed.”

Another Abbott-Wade staircase stuns Rightmove

Screen Shot 2016-07-07 at 13.15.45It’s not the first time that an Abbott-Wade staircase been used as a major selling point for a beautiful house. The customer selling this home was very disappointed to be leaving behind his beautiful oak staircase. The striking oak feature step with a backdrop of chamfered oak and forged steel Winsor spindles acending the oak stairs still makes a striking impact in the entrance hall several years on from their original installation.

Abbott-Wade at 20: What sets us apart from our competition?

20th AnniversaryIt’s official – we’ve now entered our 20th year in business!

Unlike other companies who claim to have 20 years experience because someone there once sold a few stair parts, Abbott-Wade have been specialising in the installation and renovation of staircases since the beginning. Since that historic venture in 1996, there have been weddings and babies, laughter and tears, familiar faces come and gone. While a lot has changed over the years, a lot of things also remain the same.

There are lots of things which have always set us apart from other staircase installation companies, like our prefinished materials which mean that once our fitting teams have visited, the work is compete without the need for return visits by painters or French polishers. Not all companies can offer you the choice of a new flight or a renovation either, as Abbott-Wade does. These are important factors to consider when choosing a company to transform your staircase, but we don’t pretend that these factors are exclusive to Abbott-Wade, so what else sets us apart from the others? A small company with a big conscience

Enviro friendlyWe understand that lots of little things add up to make a big difference, so we know that it’s not just the big changes we make which make an impact either. We’re a family business, not a big faceless organisation and we like to think of ourselves as a company with a conscience – whether it’s the way we treat our staff, our customers or the environment. We know that it’s the little things we do which culminate to make the biggest impact.

Keen to show off her new staircase with a newly fitted carpet, Mrs Farrall in Derbyshire was so pleased she even sent us in this photograph. Her carpet works beautifully with the stairs and wall colouring and sets off the bottom oak step perfectly. We always love to see the completed project once customers have added their own finishing touches.

“The whole process from quote to completion was professional and seamless, even the minor snagging issues at completion were dealt with promptly and satisfactorily.” – Mrs Farrall

Pre-finished Staircases

IMG_0412Whatever it is you’re buying, chances are you’ll be shopping around to get the best price you can. But what do you actually get for your money? It’s important to be clear on what you are buying. Will there be any hidden charges for designs or surveys? Will you have any work to do after the installation is finished? Continue reading…

Abbott-Wade Tradesmen and Apprentices

Tradesmen and apprenticesSince our early days in 1996, Abbott-Wade have always invested in the future; in our infrastructure, resources and staff – chiefly our tradesmen and apprentices. Over the years, in addition to qualified carpenters and cabinet makers, many apprentices have passed through our ranks; learning the skills and techniques needed to meet our high standards of craftsmanship and gaining the relevant recognised qualifications along the way. Not only is this our way of giving something back to our community, but as we don’t use subcontractors, by employing and training our own staff, we can ensure that each tradesperson we employ is capable of working to our high standards.

Reaching new heights in staircase renovation

266652729St-Helens-Star-Feature-copyOnce again, we’ve been acknowledged by a local newspaper for reaching new heights in staircase renovations. You may have seen us advertised in the national press or been recommended by our customers as far afield as Aberdeen or Aldershot, but we always like to see our names in the St Helens Star – our local newspaper where we started advertising when Abbott-Wade was still a fledgling new venture. Staircase Stories: Mr & Mrs Dowlman, Lincolnshire

“The hall stairs and landing will be worthy of inclusion in Country Life magazine!”

There are many types of staircase, in all shapes and sizes. Open tread staircases are a great way to add an open feeling to a living area. However, even an open tread staircase can need a bit of TLC eventually and Abbott-Wade were the obvious choice for Mr & Mrs Dowlman in Lincolnshire who wanted to replace old ranch rails to create a bright glass staircase. As other work in the home progressed, the completed staircase provided the vision and drive to ensure the rest of the project was completed to the same standard:

“Needless to say we are delighted with our revamped staircase.  At the moment it is a beacon of delight in a sea of disorganisation!”
